Women Run Makes Great Strides – Asks for Votes on a Savannah Charity

South Dartmouth, MA – 10/18/2011 – Women Run, a newcomer in women’s sports and lifestyle apparel and accessories, is coming to Savannah. Inspiring women to run their lives with pride and a good dose of camaraderie, Women Run will be at the Savannah Rock n’ Roll Marathon, November 3rd – 4th, 2011.

Women Run donates 5% of profits to grassroots charities focused on helping women and girls to stand on their own two feet and achieve their dreams. Women Run is asking all Savannah area residents and runners to let them know on the company Facebook page what local charity Women Run should support. Past recipients have included Fly Foundation, Greenlight for Girls and The Life Work Project.

The founder is social entrepreneur Kyra Lawton, a wife, a mother, and an avid runner. Recognizing the many roles women play daily, she wanted to create a support network where women could draw inspiration from each other and spread enthusiasm about upcoming events and recent accomplishments; and do so in a way that benefits others who need a helping hand.

As Lawton explains it, “as women we wear many hats during our busy days to run our lives. But truth be told – it’s the many shoes we wear each day that define who we are. The Women Run logo is a tribute to the many shoes it takes to run our lives, and ultimately – the world.”

The logo is a flower with a different shoe for each petal. Each shoe style reflects a certain personality type, or perhaps a certain role a woman plays at a certain time in her day.

The Women Run website (www.women-run.com) showcases the e-tail products, which are available only online and at select road race destinations; and it outlines their goals to develop a close-knit community of women from all walks of life; all while supporting charities that benefit women and girls.

Products include logo and tagline adorned baseball caps and winter knits, long and short-sleeved tee shirts, and necklaces.
